Ratchet Puller Does the JobJul 30, 2011

I am using this puller to help me reposition my travel trailer in a tight area. The rachet mechanism works easily when pulling my 2500 lb. trailer up a very slight incline using the 3/16" wire rope. The only minor issue I have is that releasing the tensioned line safely, while not difficult, requires a combination of detensioning the ratchet by holding it with the long arm while releasing the lock mechanism allowing the line to 'pay' back out slowly. This is not a big problem, it just requires a bit more 'dexterity' during the detensioning phase. One other note, the plastic box was received shattered at one end by the weight of the shifting puller in the plastic box during shipment. I was able to re-glue the pieces and secure the box with good ol' duct tape for use but a little more care in the packageing would have prevented this.
